An introduction on working with Sandplay
We're thrilled to announce that our New Training Series are open for registration! These new training series are created for everyone, including therapists, educators, counselors, or anyone looking to deepen their personal growth, and who are interested in deciphering life’s symbols.
The workshops will be online, via zoom, every third Wednesday Monthly, for six months (a total of six meetings). Meetings will be 1.5 hours long, live- from the Sandplay for Healing offices in Chatham, New Jersey. Each session will be developed and presented by Ruth Castellano, MA, CST, LPC, founder of Sandplay for Healing, LLC.

About the Presenters:
Judy Zappacosta, LMFT, CST-T, is a Certified Sandplay Teacher in Sandplay Therapists of America (STA) and the International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST). She served on the boards of both organizations and is a past president and an emeritus member of STA. Judy currently serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Sandplay Therapy.
She has maintained a private practice for many years focusing on Jungian psychotherapy, sandplay, dreams, and the integration of psyche and soma. She continues to teach and consult nationally and internationally. In 2014, Judy edited Pearls— Defining Moments in Our Lives, and through the years has been published in various journals and books. Currently, she is working on a manuscript titled, An Awakened Body: A Path to Consciousness in Sandplay Therapy.
Working directly with both Dora Kalff and Jungian Analyst Marion Woodman offered an opportunity to explore transformative work in the psyche as it appears both in sandplay therapy and body/soulwork. Judy completed the BodySoul Rhythms® Leadership Training Program with the Marion Woodman Foundation. She was also a co-founder of Caring for the Soul conferences, which offered the Sandplay in Switzerland programs as well as pilgrimage trips to Black Madonna sites in Spain.
Ruth Castellano, MA, CST, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with office in Chatham, NJ. She has over 20 years of experience in mental health agency, group practice, and private practice settings where speciality has focused on work with catastrophic trauma presentations in both children and adults. Her clinical practice has also included work with significant self-injurious behavior; family systems work; and women’s developmental process. Ms. Castellano has an extensive background as a teacher and presenter and has presented and taught in national and international settings.
Ms. Castellano began a formal study of Sandplay when in 2013 she attended both the Sandplay Therapists of America Assembly in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the intensive study of Sandplay through Caring for the Soul in Switzerland. She is a Certified Sandplay Therapist (CST) as recognized by the International Society for Sandplay Therapy and the Sandplay Therapists of America. She has been published in the Journal of Sandplay Therapy. Ms. Castellano presently serves as Sandplay Therapists of America Regional Representative for New York and New Jersey and founded the NY/NJ Sandplay Association. She currently serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Trustees of Sandplay Therapists of America.
